Founder & President
After graduating from Clemson University with both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English, Angel moved to Los Angeles and then New York City and worked as a writer/producer for Showtime Networks, Universal Studios, The WB, Lifetime, and many other networks. She moved back to South Carolina in 2010 and had a successful stint as a food writer for numerous publications, including a position as the founding editor of Eater Charleston, before combining her love for food, writing, hospitality and communications into a public relations career. She has launched numerous bar and restaurant concepts and worked with multiple James Beard nominated chefs and establishments. She also has extensive experience in cookbook PR, including touring with Chefs Thomas Keller and Sebastien Rouxel to promote the Bouchon Bakery Cookbook in 2012. Angel founded South City Public Relations in 2013.
A native of Atlanta, GA, Kelen graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in communications. In 2006, she moved to Charleston to attend the College of Charleston. While working for her master’s degree, she held various positions throughout Charleston’s growing restaurant industry before graduating with a masters of arts in communication. While in Charleston, Kelen has gained extensive experience in the public relations, marketing and hospitality industries while working with agencies, brands and non-profits. She joined South City PR in February 2015 as a senior publicist before being promoted to Vice President of SCPR in May of 2017.
Senior Account Director
Raised in Hawaii, Kerry will say she has been working in the hospitality industry her whole life. After graduating from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Communications, she set her sights on Los Angeles, working in the movie industry. The job was fast paced, and she learned a lot about the field she ultimately wanted to be in, Public Relations. Returning to Hawaii, Kerry worked for an advertising agency where she launched an inter-island airline, ran a Lt. Governor race and helped bid on a $5 billion rail transit project. She moved to Charleston in 2010 where she is raising her two boys and has honed her skills as a Publicist specializing in the Food & Beverage/Hospitality industry and has garnered hits in Garden & Gun, USA Today, Food & Wine and the Associated Press to name a few. She likes connecting with people and never turns down a glass of wine. She is a strategic thinker with skills in crisis communication, copywriting and media planning and buying.
Sarah Scott Worth
Senior Account Executive
Born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Sarah Scott brings southern roots to South City PR. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with bachelors degrees in public relations and political science, Sarah Scott began her public relations and marketing career at Ketchum South’s Raleigh office.
A self-proclaimed foodie and mac and cheese addict, Sarah Scott joined the South City PR team in June 2017 as an Account Coordinator.
Social Media Coordinator
Born in Indiana, Margo has Midwestern roots, but is a Southerner at heart. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, she holds her bachelor’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in broadcast and a minor in English.
During and following college, Margo spent considerable time abroad exploring different culinary culture. While traveling, her interest in food and beverage became a passion and hobby.
Margo joined the South City PR team in March 2019 as Social Media Coordinator.
