The Best Kind of Easter Eggs Have Whiskey
Posted on March 30, 2018
Easter has long been one of our favorite holidays. It’s hard to forget waking up in the morning to find enormous “bunny tracks” through the house leading to an overflowing basket of sugary treats and toys. From the dyeing of eggs, the egg hunt, and the mountains of food- Easter has always been a holiday that we think doesn’t get enough credit.
But as you grow older, the magic of Easter fades- the Easter bunny stops leaving his tracks, the eggs no longer get decorated, there are no more egg hunts, and putting out a big meal now falls on you. But adulthood does come with some perks- and this egg-based cocktail from Virgil Kaine Lowcountry Whiskey has its own kind of magic.
Virgil Kaine’s Black & White Cookie cocktail is a rye whiskey cocktail with vanilla syrup, chocolate bitters, and egg white making it a sweet, frothy version of the cookie favorite. Check out the recipe below to add some grown-up magic to your Easter this year.
After all, adding eggs to your booze is just a different form of egg decorating, right?
Black & White Cookie:
2oz Virgil Kaine Robber Baron Rye
½ oz Vanilla Syrup
8 dashes of Chocolate Bitters
1 Egg white
Add all ingredients into a shaker, and dry shake for 30 seconds. Now add ice and shake for another 30 seconds, and strain into a coupe glass and garnish with vanilla and chocolate powder.
